South Carolina Baptists Protecting Children

Dear Pastor, Minister of Childhood Education, & Preschool/Children’s Director:

Jesus said, “suffer the little children to come unto me, for such is my kingdom”.  With that high priority placed by our Savior on children, we certainly should do no less. As churches, we must be aware of safety issues and take steps to protect children from physical or emotional harm.

The links below contain very relevant material in regard to many policies that you may wish to consider enacting in your local congregation. We desire to help you be informed about matters concerning legal liabilities as well as to inform you of proactive safety precautions which your church may wish to adopt. Cindy Morris and Sue Harmon in the Childhood Ministry Group stand ready to assist you in any of these matters.

Please feel free to make copies of these documents and distribute them to those in your church who are responsible for developing and implementing child protection policies.

God’s continued blessings on you as you work with children.  Remember, “take care of what has been entrusted to you.” 1 Timothy 6:20.

Blessings,

Cindy Morris
Sue Harmon
