BREAKOUT SESSIONS:
1. Local Schools:  A Pathway to Ministering in Your Community by Angela McNeal
Community Ministry Strategist | Heart4Schools, SC Baptist Convention

If you want to impact your community, serving in a local school is one of the best places to invest. We have opportunities to encourage teachers, help students not reading on grade level, mentor students who need extra support, and help meet the physical needs of students (food, clothing, hygiene items). By simply asking, “How can we help?”, your church will open doors to life-changing relationships and avenues for ministry. Join us to learn how a church of any size can partner with their local school.

2. The Top Four Issues Ministry Assistants Request Help by Donald King
SCBC Director of Church Leadership & Administration

This session addresses the top four topics that ministry assistants call for help: (1) Church Software, (2) Church Insurance, (3) Tax Issues, and (4) Communication. Participants will hear the most common response provided to address their needs and help them move forward with confidence.

3. Providing a Prayer Covering for Your Family by Rhett Wilson
Writer-Ghostwriter-Copywriter-Editor

Prayer is a vital aspect of a person’s life, especially when praying for your children and grandchildren. But it can be hard to know what to pray for. Rhett Wilson talks about how to pray a shield of prayer around your family – and provides a simple but comprehensive method to do just that. One of the greatest adventures we can take is how to learn to pray strategically, passionately, and purposefully, lifting up a prayer covering over our families and loved ones. We can influence our children, grandchildren, churches, and generations to come.

4. Help! I’m New Here! by Steve Rohrlack
Team Leader-Church Strengthening and Discipleship, SC Baptist Convention

Every organization has its own language, and the SC Baptist Convention and its churches are certainly no exception. Let’s talk about how the Baptist “system” works; what all those acronyms mean. Learn how important you are to what God is doing in your church and in the SC Baptist Convention.

5. Canva by Jenny Altman
Graphic Designer and Social Media Coordinator at Trevett’s Creative+

Multiple levels will be offered during the breakouts.  Bring your laptop.
* Each level will be using Canva Pro – a free upgrade as a non-profit. First-time users will have access to a free 30-day trial before committing to a paid subscription. Setting up your account beforehand will give you the best experience for this course!

A. Beginner Canva Course

Demystify Canva! Join graphic designer Jenny Altman for this 45-minute class on the ins and outs of Canva, the friendly design software that makes graphic design easy, accessible, and effective. We will cover easy tips and tricks along with some basic conceptual approaches to layout, text, and shape. Bring your laptop as you will put them all into action as you design your own event flyer in Canva*.

B. Intermediate Canva Course

Now that you’ve mastered the basics, stick around for session two: the Intermediate Canva Course*! We’ll take a further look into design, Canva tips and tricks, and we’ll crack open those laptops again for step-by-step tutorials on event programs and social media posts

C. Advanced Canva Course

In this Advanced Canva course, I’ll show you how to set up your church’s Brand Kit* in Canva! Promotional materials, social media posts, bulletins – all of your church needs! – will look professional and seamless through the use of Canva’s Brand Kit. Plus, I’ll show you how to share your Brand Kit so every ministry in your church will look cohesive. This is a hands-on course so bring your laptop and have a Canva Pro account ready. Your organization’s colors, fonts, and vector format logo are helpful to have for this course to set up the Brand Kit, but not necessary to attend the course.

6. Biblical Femininity: Discovering Clarity & Freedom in God’s Design for Women by Jessi Strother
Writer, Teacher, Conference Speaker of the fullness of Grace & Truth, Warrior, Wife, Mama

Clarity and freedom come by realizing you have preconceived notions of what Biblical Femininity is to you, and most likely, you had some kind of reaction to the use of the word, “Femininity” in the title. See femininity as God defines it, as a strong and necessary part of the combined reflection of God. You will be surprised, challenged, and encouraged to live as His beloved daughter in the fullness of His power and love. See how God can redeem what is broken when it comes to the way we see ourselves, and how women are seen and valued. Knowing the biblical design of femininity as defined through a biblical lens opens that door to the abundant life Jesus came to give.

7. Ministry Support and Partnership with Your AMS by Scott Shields
Director of Associational Relations, SC Baptist Convention

Come hear how to work as a ministry team in order to give the support and resources to your pastor, AMS, or church family.

8. Helping God’s People Fund the Great Commission by Nathan McCarthy
President, Baptist Foundation

Discover creative ways churches and individuals can financially invest in kingdom initiatives while growing their resources for church / individual needs.
