Unity in Faith at Multi-Ethnic Pastors Retreat

The Multi-Ethnic Pastors and Wives Retreat gathered pastors from across the state for fellowship, prayer, and encouragement.

The retreat, organized by SCBaptist’s Send Team, welcomed ethnic pastors and their spouses from across South Carolina. Pastors hailed from diverse corners of the world, including Cambodia, China, Haiti, Ukraine, Mexico, Peru, and Vietnam.

Throughout the retreat, attendees heard from several inspirational leaders who shared their wisdom and experiences, including Aslam Masih, National Church Planting Missionary with the North American Mission Board, and Ezra Bae, Asian Church Mobilizer for the International Mission Board.

Practical Support

One of the highlights of the retreat was Pastor Jake Bolotano’s presentation. Pastor Bolotano, from the Filipino-American Friendship Ministry of Christ in Columbia, SC, shared his research and insights on effective evangelism strategies among Filipino immigrants. His personal experiences and deep knowledge offered practical tools for reaching diverse communities.

“The retreat was life-changing. It was a very rewarding weekend for us to enjoy excellent accommodations, great food, and above all, Christ-honoring, spirit-filled worship and fellowship,” Bolotano said.

Fellowship and Connection

The retreat also provided a unique opportunity for pastors and their wives to connect on a personal level. Pastor Ruslan Antonov from Upstate Family Baptist in Greer, SC, said, “We liked meeting other families, getting to know each other better, praying together, discussing our life and ministry opportunities and challenges.”

Pray for these congregations and leaders as they seek to reach people from their home nations with the Gospel right here in South Carolina.

The FINISH Initiative

God is bringing the nations to our cities, towns, and neighborhoods. With over 280,000 foreign-born in our state, the FINISH Initiative is one way we assist churches to engage unreached people groups that live in South Carolina.
