Hurricane Idalia Response Update

As needs on the ground have changed over the past week, we wanted to keep you updated on the latest Hurricane Idalia response efforts.

Here are the latest updates regarding SCBaptist Disaster Relief volunteers in Florida:

  • South Carolina is working in conjunction with Alabama DR in Inverness, Florida.
  • Housing, Meals, Shower/Laundry, and Incident Management provided by Alabama DR.
  • Requests from Florida DR for this specific site have been all mud-out/flood recovery.

The following is the SCBDR deployment schedule, as of 9/6/23:

CharlestonSept. 10-16
Pickens-Twelve MileSept. 10-16
Greenville Assoc.Sept. 10-16
EdgefieldSept. 17-22

*Tentative

No requests have been made for volunteers for Fixed Kitchen, Chainsaw, or Shower/Laundry. However, the potential remains for additional requests. We’ll communicate if this need arises.

Thank you to all Disaster Relief volunteers for your continued prayers for the residents impacted by the storm, for the safety of our volunteers, and for God to be glorified through these efforts in the coming weeks.
