Adventure Trip Camp: week-long adventure-based experience for High School campers in various outdoor adventure activities. The challenge and adversity of the experience, coupled with the incredible natural beauty and small group interactions, makes this a dynamic time of growth and discovery. Trip Camp is an out-of-camp 5 day, 4 night experience that has served as a rite of passage for thousands of young men over the years. This year, we are offering 4 different Adventure Trip Camps --see below for descriptions!

*Due to the strenuous, physical nature of this program, Trip Campers must complete an additional Health Screening Questionnaire. It can be found in the “Forms” section of the website.

Chaperones do not attend this camp.

Flat-Water Kayaking: June 12-16, 2023 - This track will teach paddling skills and safety procedures as well as low-impact camping during a 5-day, 4-night trip on beautiful Lake Jocassee. Sites visited during the trip include Laurel Fork Falls or Keowee-Toxaway. Basic kayaking skills and safety are taught on location and in and around Lake Chilly Water.  All gear is furnished by Camp McCall.

Backpacking: June 19-23, 2023 - This track introduces campers to the basics of backpacking—packing, backcountry travel, navigation, and much more. Campers leave on Monday afternoon and will return to McCall Friday morning. Depending upon weather and other factors, this backpacking trip will utilize national and state lands in both South and North Carolina. All gear is furnished by Camp McCall.

Yak & Pak: July 10-14, 2023 - This track provides campers the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in both kayaking and backpacking.  Campers will kayak on Lake Jocassee and backpack various trails such as the South Carolina Foothills Trail or in the Pisgah National Forest.  All gear is furnished by Camp McCall.

Multi Element: July 17-21, 2023 - This track combines the best of Adventure Recreation into one trip. Each day, campers will embark on a different adventure that highlights the best of all the other trips into one week-long adventure. Come prepared for the best of the best!  All gear is furnished by Camp McCall.
