Vibrant Church Plant in Spartanburg

Vibrant Church Plant in Spartanburg

In its third year as a church plant, ID Clifton sent out their associate pastor, Taylor Little, to plant ID Downtown.

Taylor Little, ID Clifton’s previous associate pastor, is now the pastor of ID Downtown, located in Spartanburg, SC. Although Little believed this was the Lord’s plan, he was still faced with fear and uncertainties. “I really just had to lean into the Lord and just trust what he was doing,” Little said.

A Growing Community

The church, planted in October, quickly attracted a diverse and eager congregation. “God moving in our church has just been like a wave of a harvest,” Little said. Members were hungry for spiritual growth, discipleship, and a deeper understanding of God’s Word. At the core of this church’s success lies a passionate commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission by reaching its community.

One successful outreach effort was a basketball event, and what started with just a handful of attendees soon turned into several baptisms and salvations. They also recently acquired a coffee trailer, which allows them to “go out and be mobilized in different areas of the community so that the Gospel can be shared and lives can be transformed,” Little said. They also reach out to their local skate park, hold community movie nights, and more.

Focus on Discipleship

A significant element of ID Downtown’s outreach strategy is discipleship. ID Downtown’s emphasis on genuine relationships and discipleship has helped members connect on a profound level, creating a tight-knit community that extends beyond the church’s walls. For ID Downtown, discipleship is about having a consistent checkpoint where individuals can share their struggles, successes, and spiritual journeys. It’s about accountability and spiritual growth.

This simple yet profound practice has helped members move from a place of uncertainty to a strong, faith-driven commitment to ministry. Taylor mentors a group of men, walking with them through life’s challenges and encouraging them in their faith. “It’s created a replication process to continuously multiply for us,” Little said. Through intentional relationships and Gospel-centered living, ID Downtown cultivates a thriving community of believers.
