Supporting SC Church Planters through Marriage Retreat

SC Church Planters enjoy a marriage retreat in Longs, SC.

The Church Planter Marriage Retreat was a rejuvenating experience for lead planter couples in SC.

Hosted by the Start Network, the event took place from September 7th to 9th at Living Water Baptist Church in Longs, SC, and was an opportunity for church planters and their wives to retreat, recharge, and reconnect along the picturesque South Carolina coast.

This event reflects the Start Network’s commitment to supporting church planters in practical and meaningful ways. Josh Bradley, SCBaptist Church Planting Strategist, said, “Our planters are on the front lines, and it’s an honor to serve them.” Besides strengthening marriages, it was an opportunity to exchange experiences and build camaraderie with fellow church planters from across the state.

Attendees heard from Amy and Wayne Bray and SCBaptist Start Team Leader Cliff Marshall in an informative Q&A session.

Serving Church Planters

Attendees heard from Wayne Bray, pastor of First Baptist Simpsonville, who, along with his wife, Amy, encouraged the couples through authentic and vulnerable messages. Spencer Creech, church planting resident at Journey Church, said, “The retreat was a much-needed blessing to my family. Thank you to the Start Team and everyone involved for putting it on.”

SCBaptists believe that church planting is essential to the mission of God in South Carolina.
