Redemption and Renewal Through Baptism at Radius Church

Radius Church in Lexington, SC held a baptismal service on April 16, with many individuals publicly professing their faith and commitment to Jesus Christ. Among those being baptized were Megan Jordan and Jan McBride, both with powerful testimonies of how they came to faith.

Megan, who described herself as a former atheist, shared that she had turned away from God after experiencing unspeakable pain as a child. However, after almost 20 years of running away, she was rescued by God in 2021. She met her neighbor Mary Zainka, who gently guided her out of the darkness and showed her the love and light of Jesus Christ. Through God’s grace, Megan recognized her need for Jesus and surrendered her soul to Him, confessing her sins and giving her heart to Him. She now describes herself as happy, fulfilled, and grateful, and most importantly, a child of God.

Jan, on the other hand, had grown up in a Christian home and had been baptized at the age of 14. However, she admits that she had never really learned how to pray or get to know Jesus, and eventually fell away from her faith in college when she fell in love with science. But after her mother passed away and she went to help her almost blind father, Jan began watching Bible-teaching TV pastors with him and eventually recognized the truth of the Bible and Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. She prayed for belief and faith, which came upon her quietly, filling her with spiritual joy that has not left her since. She now walks with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit through daily prayer and Bible reading, and her mission is to serve God with 100% of her time, talents, and finances. Jan’s baptism was made even more special by the presence of her father, who had played a significant role in her spiritual journey. Despite his visual impairment, he stood beside her at the baptismal pool, reaching out to feel the water ripple as she went under.

As the baptismal service drew to a close, the atmosphere was one of joy, gratitude, and renewed hope. The testimonies of Megan, Jan, and the other individuals that were baptized had touched the hearts of all those present, and the sight of them being baptized was a powerful reminder of the transformative power of faith. For many, this day marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their spiritual journeys, and they were eager to continue growing in their faith and sharing the love of Jesus with others.
