The Edney Family

Jonathan and Becca Edney, along with Benjamin (14), Matthew (12), and Bella (8) spent 10 years with the International Mission Board (IMB). Then, the Lord introduced them to a new mission field, the diaspora in Charleston. In 2020 they began the church planting process with the growing Portuguese-speaking population in the Lowcountry. Knowing that language learning is a huge need in both missionary life and in immigration to the United States, they began an English as a Second Language (ESL) ministry that now serves not only Brazilians, but over 300 students from 17 different countries.
Prayer requests:
- Pray for CBC’s growing small group ministry and for leadership for each small group.
- Pray for the growing ESL ministry.
- Pray for the Edneys’ endurance as local missionaries.
- Pray for the Edneys’ children as they grow in their faith.
