South Carolina Baptist Convention welcomes Bronson Baker to the Baptist Collegiate Ministry team as the Director of Charleston area schools

The South Carolina Baptist Convention is excited to welcome Bronson Baker to the Baptist Collegiate Ministry team as the Director of Charleston area schools. In this position, Bronson will be serving primarily on the campuses of The Citadel and the College of Charleston.

Since 2014, Bronson worked full-time with BCM at the University of Oklahoma, concentrating on outreach and evangelism among freshmen and athletes. In his time at OU, he also worked to mobilize over 80 local Baptist churches to engage the campus of OU with the Gospel.

“God has been moving on the campuses in Charleston even during a pandemic.” Chad Stillwell, Director of SCBC Collegiate Ministries, said. “Bronson brings a wealth of experience reaching lost students. We are excited to have him join the team and lock arms with the churches in Charleston to reach the 30,000 college students in Charleston with the Gospel.”

In his first year as the BCM Director of Charleston area schools, Bronson plans to spend time seeing where God is already at work, learning the area, and learning the churches and people he will serve. He noted how important it will be for him to “invest in the people and students already working with BCM” and working to keep them “energized and excited about serving the Lord through the ministry.”

Bronson says he is most excited to see what God will do with this position. He says “the Lord wouldn’t have called [him] to a job 18 hours away for no reason. God has something planned here and I’m excited to see what He has in store.”
