Early this year, God confirmed the call for Dr. Daniel Dickard and his family to serve Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. For the past five years, Dr. Dickard served at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church in Greensboro, N.C. “As the Lord moved in our hearts and in the hearts of Shandon, we’ve seen God’s Providence. We’re eager about a new ministry,” Dr. Dickard said.

Dr. Dickard was also elected President of the 2023 Southern Baptist Convention Pastors’ Conference. This year’s focus is “Character Matters in Ministry: Beatitudes of a Pastor.” This focus is because “ministry is not about us. Ministry is about the life of Jesus lived in and through us,” Dickard said.

The SBC Pastors’ Conference is a two-day event that allows pastors from across the convention to come together and sit under biblical preaching. “Our goal from the beginning has been nothing more and nothing less than encouraging pastors,” Dickard said.
