Responding to the Ukraine Crisis

Southern Baptists are responding to the humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.

The compassion ministry organization of the North American and International Mission Boards (NAMB and IMB) is “Send Relief.”

Send Relief is responding through partners on the ground (national and other trusted partners). They continue to ramp up response to this major crisis. Even before the invasion, Send Relief began responding with food relief. Now they are working to provide food, shelter, transportation, clothing, hygiene kits, and trauma ministry to displaced people in Poland, Moldova, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and other eastern European countries.

Send Relief is partnering with state conventions to deploy Southern Baptist Disaster Relief teams to Poland and Romania. Update, April 28, 2022: A team from South Carolina will be a part of this effort in late May. More information will be posted shortly.

Currently, the best way for Southern Baptists to help is by praying and giving. A prayer guide is available below. Donations to support the deployment and ministry of the team to Romania and other Disaster Relief volunteer engagement can be made to the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Details will be posted shortly.
