URGENT ALERT

Today, the South Carolina Senate will take up the Heartbeat Bill.  Last week, after a marathon session that saw over 1000 amendments put up to stall and destroy the bill, the House passed S474.

Today the Senate is being pummeled by pro-choice advocates who are demanding they refuse to concur with the House bill.  They need to hear from you today.  Please take a minute to contact your Senators and urge them to support the Heartbeat Bill.

Last week, the North Carolina Legislature overrode their Governor’s veto and passed a 12-week bill.  We are now surrounded by states with restrictive abortion laws. That means South Carolina will continue to see an increase in abortions for the foreseeable future if this bill fails to pass now. We are currently an abortion destination state.

S474 is not a perfect bill.  It contains exceptions for life of the mother, rape and incest, and fatal fetal anomaly.  But it does protect life as soon as a heartbeat is detected (about six weeks).

Planned Parenthood and other organizations are flooding the statehouse with calls.  Please take a moment right now and contact your Senators.  Ask them to stand firm and protect life.  You can find your senator and his or her contact info at www.scstatehouse.gov.

He must increase, I must decrease
