Hurricane Sally Response

Hurricane Sally Response

Update, 10/5/20 – South Carolina Disaster Relief units are in our second week of assisting Florida and Alabama DR in responding to Hurricane Sally. Chainsaw, chaplain, and shower/laundry teams are needed throughout October to meet needs in Jesus’ name.

This week there are five SC units serving:
~ in the Mobile area, one feeding team
~ in Pensacola, two chainsaw units, one chaplain team, and one shower/laundry team.

Last week, South Carolina had seven units active: two mud-out and one each of feeding, chainsaw, shower/laundry, heavy equipment, and chaplain/assessors.

Unit Leaders are asked to gather a team and notify the state convention DOC (Disaster Operations Center) of their available dates.

Volunteers are asked to contact their Unit Leader to let them know you are available. Volunteers not connected to a unit can contact the state DOC – email is preferred over phone calls, sueharmon@scbaptist.org.

There are many people whose lives have been turned upside down by this hurricane – we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus to meet needs and share His love with those who are hurting. Your prayers and participation are needed!
