SCBaptist Hispanic congregations are making a mark on the mission to see every life saturated and transformed by the hope of the Gospel.

Hispanic Missions Sunday on Sept. 17 is set aside to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of Hispanic churches. As our nation recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month, Southern Baptist churches are invited to celebrate and pray for what God is doing through Hispanic churches. 

The Hispanic or Latino population in the U.S., which includes people of any race, was 63.7 million in 2022. By 2050, the Hispanic or Latino population is expected to reach 100 million. Although, historically, Hispanic countries have been considered a mission field, Hispanics are now becoming a missions force all over the world, including here in South Carolina.

A New Church Plant

North Trenholm Baptist Church, led by Pastor Casey Williams, is sending out Nicolas Ceballo to plant North Trenholm Español in Columbia, South Carolina.

Ceballo’s vision for his future church is “to be a church focused on living a Gospel-centered life and be a community of faith that works to support and plant new churches by investing in the development of new leaders while living committed to bringing the Gospel everywhere, starting with our community.”

Pray that God helps Nicolas and other Hispanic leaders in South Carolina to see the Great Commission advance across the state.

Las congregaciones bautistas hispanas en Carolina del Sur están dejando sus huellas en la misión de ver cada vida saturada y transformada por la esperanza del evangelio.

El domingo de Misiones Hispanas, conmemorado el 17 de Septiembre, celebra los logros y contribuciones de las iglesias hispanas. Mientras nuestra nación reconoce el Mes de la Herencia Hispana, los bautistas del sur están invitados a celebrar y a orar por lo que Dios está haciendo a través de las iglesias hispanas. 

Una nueva iglesia plantada

La iglesia bautista de North Trenholm, liderada por el pastor Casey Williams, está enviando a Nicolás Ceballo a plantar la iglesia North Trenholm en Español en Columbia, Carolina del Sur. La visión de Ceballo para ésta futura iglesia es ser una “Ser una iglesia enfocada en vivir una vida centrada en el evangelio. Una comunidad de fe que trabaja para apoyar y plantar nuevas iglesias invirtiendo en el desarrollo de nuevos líderes, mientras vive comprometida con llevar el evangelio a todas partes comenzando por nuestra comunidad donde estamos ubicados.”

Oremos para que el Señor ayude a Nicolás y a otros líderes hispanos en Carolina del sur a lograr que la gran comisión avance en nuestro estado.
