Beam Elected to ERLC Board of Trustees

Tony Beam was elected as vice chair to the board of trustees for the Ethics & Religions Liberty Commission of the SBC.

The unanimous vote to elect all the new officers took place during the ERLC meeting in Nashville, Tennessee on September 13th. Beam currently serves as Director of Church & Community Engagement at North Greenville University and serves the South Carolina Baptist Convention as Director of the Office of Public Policy.

Newly elected ERLC board of trustees members: Kevin Smith, chair, Amy Pettway, secretary, and Tony Beam, vice chair.

Beam will work alongside Kevin Smith, the newly appointed chair and the first black man to hold the position. Smith serves as pastor of Family Church Village in West Palm Beach, Florida. The ERLC works to advocate for policies that bolster the sanctity of life, human dignity, religious liberty, and marriage and family.
