Update: Chainsaw Units Needed in Oklahoma

Although we were originally asked to serve in Dallas, Texas, situations change rapidly in disaster areas, and we have been reassigned to Oklahoma. An EF3 tornado caused great damage in Claremore on Saturday, May 25. Chainsaw units, including chaplains, are needed. The first SC units will deploy for OK this weekend (June 1-2). Other units are needed for the coming 2-3 weeks.

ALL DR CHAINSAW VOLUNTEERS should pray, contact your Unit Leader to let him/her know of your availability, and prepare for deployment. Chainsaw-trained volunteers who are not yet connected to a unit can contact the SCBaptist Disaster Relief Office if you are available to serve. We will help you to connect with a unit.

UNIT LEADERS:
Pray.
Contact your team members.
Communicate with your church and/or associational leaders about deployment.
Notify the state DR Office of your available dates.
Prepare your trailer and equipment.

Please pray for the storm-battered residents of Oklahoma, Texas and other hard-hit states, and for the DR volunteers as they provide assistance and share the gospel.
