Coats for the City 2024

South Carolina churches and the Metropolitan New York Baptist Association partner to be the hands and feet of Jesus by collecting coats throughout the year and distributing them across New York City in December.

Our goal this year is to collect 10,000 coats and send 40 churches to NYC to help with distribution. There are four ways you and your church can partner: volunteer, become a host church, collect coats and pray.

1. Collect Coats: Collect new or gently used winter coats to donate.  We will collect winter coats on November 11 right before the 2024 SCBC annual meeting in Columbia.  There are instructions we will send concerning how to count and mark the costs you collect.
2. Volunteer: Consider sending a team to assist our NYC partners with their distribution and outreach. Ideally, teams would be made up of 6-8 people. For teams larger than 8 people, please be aware that your team may be split up among various sites, depending on the needs of the NYC partners. Space is limited so groups will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
