The number one reason that people walk away from their faith is pain. They face something intensely difficult that their theological framework (not that students use that term) cannot account for. We cannot protect students from suffering. But we can provide them with a robust understanding of suffering that allows them to face intense hardships

None of us are immune from experiencing grief and loss, even children. And yet, their experiences are often somewhat different than adults. We’ll walk through how children and teens understand and work through grief given their developmental contexts and limited life experiences, then explore some ways that we might minister to them in the midst
