Vermont Response: Shower/Laundry and Asset Protection Volunteers Needed

As the response unfolds in Barre, Vermont, the need for additional volunteers to support the flood recovery teams has become apparent. We have been asked to send volunteers for Shower/Laundry and for Asset Protection. These ministries are needed immediately, and over the next several weeks.

Shower/Laundry: There are units in place, but volunteers are needed to serve on those units. The dates of August 2-9 are covered. We need people who can leave right away or any time in the next week.

Asset Protection: For now, there is local police presence at the site where the DR trailers and equipment are stored overnight, but Asset Protection teams are needed by this weekend (7/22). It is important that the DR resources in Barre are protected, so that volunteers are able to continue the flood recovery ministry.

Trained volunteers who are able to meet these needs are urged to contact the state convention DR office immediately. 803-227-6149, or sueharmon@scbaptist.org.
