I have encouraging news from the South Carolina Legislature.  On Tuesday, January 22, H3424 (The Child Online Safety Act) and H4700 (South Carolina Social Media Regulation Act) both passed with unanimous, bipartisan support from the House Judiciary Committee!  The Child Online Safety Act will prevent online porn companies from disseminating their material to minors and the South Carolina Social Media Regulation Act will require social media companies to provide parental permission before a minor can set up a social media page.

Both bills will aid in protecting children in South Carolina.  It is rare to see any legislation pass out of a House or Senate Committee with full support from both Republicans and Democrats. It is encouraging to know our lawmakers can still work together to make South Carolina a better place to live.

If your House Representative is on the Judiciary Committee, please send them an email or give them a call to thank them for their support!  You can use the link below to see a list of the House Judiciary members:

If you don’t know your House Representative, use the link below and enter the requested information in the “find my legislator” box.

Thank you for taking the time to support our Representatives.  Before you contact them, please say a prayer for them and let them know you are praying for them and their families.  I promise the encouragement will be greatly appreciated!

He must increase, I must decrease,
