*ACTION ALERT*
I am in Columbia today at the Statehouse. Yesterday, on the day when between 60 and 70 pastors came to the Statehouse for a press conference to voice their opposition to gambling, a subcommittee of the House Ways and Means Committee took all of ten minutes and voted to send the Casino bill to the full committee. This morning, with just minutes to go before the session began, the full committee sent the bill to the floor.
We now have a bill (H4176) that will legalize casinos, and will bring crime,nc addiction, and economic devastation to the people it is meant to support. If our lawmakers don’t hear from us, this bill could very well pass the House before next Thursday at 5:00pm. It’s possible it could come up as early as tomorrow.
Please share this information as with as many people as possible. Contact your state house member and state senator, immediately. Time is running out to prevent this bill from passing in the House.
