Becoming a Better Neighbor

Becoming a Better Neighbor

After Kelly Ann’s husband passed away, she began seeking more ways to be a light in her community. She found a way to serve right across the street.

Kelly Ann’s world turned upside down when her husband passed away unexpectedly. She was lost and didn’t know what to do. Before her husband died, they had been praying for their neighbors, and Kelly Ann wanted to continue to be a light in her community. She knew that God had a plan for her, but she wasn’t sure what it was.

One day, a new family moved in across the street. Kelly Ann was excited and became friends with Katie. They did a lot of activities together, such as working out, gardening, and going for walks. They also had deep conversations, and Kelly Ann would often pray with Katie when she was nervous about something.

One day, Kelly Ann had a very emotional day and decided to make spaghetti for dinner. She knew that it was Katie’s favorite, so she called her up and invited her and her daughters over for dinner. During their conversation, Kelly Ann asked Katie if Jesus had ever changed her life. Katie said no, and Kelly Ann asked her if she wanted to pray to receive Jesus into her heart. To her surprise, Katie said yes, and Kelly Ann led her in a prayer to accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

From that day on, Kelly Ann continued to mentor Katie and help her grow in her faith. Although she admits that she hasn’t done the best job, she wants to continue to be there for Katie and help her as much as she can. It has been a great experience and journey for Kelly Ann to be Katie’s friend through all of this. Despite the tragedy of losing her husband, Kelly Ann found a way to turn her pain into a blessing for someone else, and in doing so, found purpose and meaning in her own life.
