SCDR Update: Call-out for Kentucky flooding

Flooded home in eastern Kentucky

Kentucky has undergone historic-level flooding in the eastern part of the state. Their DR Director has requested that SC Disaster Relief run a site for mud-out ministry. Therefore, we are activating an OFFICIAL CALL-OUT for SCDR units to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the people of Kentucky.

Units/teams needed: mud-out units, chaplains, assessors, fixed kitchen feeding teams, shower/laundry volunteers, asset protection personnel, and Incident Management Teams (IMT) including Incident Command and Administration.

Our assigned area is near the towns of Langley and McDowell, KY. This is the same area where we served after flooding in March of 2021.

Trained volunteers, please clear your schedules, communicate with your unit leader, and prepare for deployment. Those not yet attached to a unit can contact the state office to be assigned to a team. Unit Leaders, please notify the state office of your available dates.

You can support this ministry with your prayers for the residents whose lives have been turned upside down by this disaster, and for the DR volunteers deploying to serve. You may also provide support through donations to South Carolina Baptist Convention Disaster Relief. Use the button below for instructions on how to give online or by mailing a check.

Watch here and on our Facebook page for updates on this disaster response.
