A BCMGO missionary is someone who is...

• 18-24 years of age at the time of service.
• Available to attend the required training weekend in Winnsboro, March 27-28, 2026.
• A mature and growing follower of Jesus Christ with a clear testimony and a willingness to verbally share the Gospel.
• An active member of a local SC Southern Baptist Church and/or an active member of a SC BCM group on their campus.
• Supportive and affirming of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
• Spiritually, physically, and emotionally healthy to serve in new circumstances.
• Willing to serve without compensation and to raise prayer and financial supporters to serve.
• Willing and able to seriously commit to interviews and training prior to service, and debrief with other BCMGO missionaries and staff post-service.

Because of the incredible generosity of SCBaptists who give to the Janie Chapman State Missions Offering and through our local BCMs, we can offer BCMGO trips at highly affordable rates. These funds subsidize every BCMGO trip in part and significantly offset an individual's cost to serve.

Each trip price is different; however, our trips range from $500 - $3,500 depending on where you travel and the length of service time.

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of accepting a placement assignment, which is applied to your total fundraising amount.

The stated cost for your trip will include:

• airfare (if applicable)
• lodging
• 3 meals per day
• local transportation
• visas (if applicable)
• supplemental medical insurance
• planned cultural excursions (varied by location)

Trip costs do not include:

• baggage fees
• travel to/from airport
• airport parking
• meals to/from airport
• meals, snacks, drinks in addition to the meals as stated above
• souvenirs
• tourism and/or leisure activities in addition to any planned excursions as stated above

Yes! Every BCMGO missionary is required to attend an in-person training weekend event. This weekend is built to give you dedicated time to spend with others on your mission team, worship together, participate in cultural awareness exercises, be equipped in safety and security training, finalize travel logistics, and more.

Many trips also have on-field training and orientation built in to the schedule.

Because of the variety of BCMGO opportunities and locations, comprehensive safety measures for each will vary. However, all of our partner organizations take your safety seriously and have longstanding protocols in place for safety and security. Following Jesus may involve taking risks, even in terms of personal safety, but we will do all that we can to care for you well during your time of service. We strongly encourage you to bring up any safety concerns during the application process.
