Supporting Church Planting in Northern Manchester
Description: Despite the long history of great preachers, missionaries, and Christian thinkers, today much of England is hovering just short of 1% evangelical. This means that we are working in a post-religious society that does not bother to think about spiritual things. The few who do think spiritually are post-modern and creative with what religious thoughts they string together.
Sometimes referred to as the London of the North, Manchester is a booming city with a population of around 2.8 million. Though Manchester has the appearance of being alive, it is spiritually dead. The city boasts several hundred churches, but only about a dozen of those claim to be evangelical. Thousands of people go about their daily lives with no understanding of who Jesus is.
Spend 7 weeks immersed in the diverse culture while gaining a hands-on perspective of long-term ministry in this area. Join in with our BCMGO short-term team and host a three-day football camp, and spend your remaining weeks alongside local church leaders through mentorship, practical evangelism, and community engagement. Together, we aim to bless local families, strengthen the ministry’s presence, and support the wider work of reaching Manchester for Christ.
