As Baptist Collegiate Ministry Director for Lander University and Greenwood Area, Scott Smith reaches students for Jesus Christ, helping students that are followers of Christ to grow, and challenging students to serve Jesus locally and throughout the world. He began serving in this role in 1980, working the entire time with college students and the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Prior to this, he served in Charleston and Greenwood, and worked as a director of students at Brewton Parker College. Scott holds undergraduate and graduate degrees, in addition to being awarded an honorary doctorate from Lander University for his continued dedication to the university.  His wife, Judy, passed in 2014, and they have two children.
