Michael Pigg

Michael Pigg serves as the Director of African American Engagement. With South Carolina’s non-white population exceeding 37%, SCBaptist intentionally strategizes to share the Gospel and plant churches within African American communities. Prior to this role, Pigg served as the Share Team Leader. Michael has held leadership and teaching positions in associational, state convention, and national work. He served as president of the National African American Fellowship of the Southern Baptist Convention. At the Georgia Baptist Convention, he served on the Executive Committee and as chairman of the Order of Business Committee. He was moderator of the Stone Mountain Baptist Association and has served as a trustee of Brewton Parker College. He is also a noted retreat leader, evangelist, and Bible teacher, and taught in various capacities through ITC Seminary, Anderson University’s Clamp Divinity School. He also served as a Leadership Trainer for Lifeway Christian Resources. He and his wife, Beverly, have two daughters.
