Most of the 165,000 Deaf individuals in Sri Lanka rely on their Buddhist families, who often serve as their sole source of income. When they contemplate following Jesus, they must grapple with the choice between financial support from their earthly family or eternal fellowship with God and a heavenly family. The limited presence of only a couple of Deaf churches on the island presents a significant obstacle in sharing God’s Word and providing Deaf Sri Lankan believers with a church family.
