Forty million people live in the Delta of the Nile River, an area the size of Massachusetts that runs between Alexandria, the Suez Canal, and Cairo. Egyptian Arabs, Nubians, Domari Gypsies, Bedouin Muslims, as well as a few Coptic Christians live in high-rise apartments surrounded by farmland. Donkey carts, trucks, and cars clog the streets. Everyone knows everyone. People have a village mindset as they farm, work, go to school, marry one another, and worship together. Few have heard of salvation that comes by grace, not by works, or know that Jesus is Lord.
