Choosing to Serve on Spring Break
While many students head for the beach on their spring break, several Citadel cadets chose to go in a different direction. Gabriel Jauregui, Eoin Youngblood, and Austin Castor headed to the upstate to join a Disaster Relief project, helping to repair houses that were damaged in Hurricane Helene.
It was through the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) on campus that the cadets learned of the opportunity to serve this week (March 9-14) in Spartanburg County. Associate BCM directors Rob Christie and Cooper Morse are serving alongside the students.
The group is spending the week replacing a roof that was damaged by a fallen tree. Bonnie, whose father built the house 54 years ago, has lived there her entire life. The efforts of these young men will allow Bonnie to continue living in her family home.
Pray for these cadets and their leaders as they share God’s love through their work and their conversations with the homeowners where they are serving.
