SC Baptist Disaster Relief has been asked by DR leaders in West Virginia to assist with flood recovery. Mud-out units, a shower/laundry unit, and Incident Management personnel are needed, with work beginning Tuesday, July 28.

West Virginia received up to 7 to 10 inches of rain in hardest-hit areas during the severe flash floods of Tuesday, July 21–22, 2026. Roy Polmanteer, director of Baptist Disaster Relief in West Virginia, has asked South Carolina to run one recovery site and North Carolina to run another site.

Unit Leaders of SC Baptist “mud-out” units should contact their team members and then let their Regional Coordinator know which week their unit can serve.

Incident Management and shower/laundry volunteers should also contact their Regional Coordinator regarding their availability.

Feeding is being provided at the site by West Virginia Baptists.

Please pray for the people of WV affected by the flooding, for the leadership in SC, NC, and WV who are arranging to provide assistance, and for the volunteers who will be serving in the disaster areas.
