Project Northern Lights: Sharing the Gospel to Seafaring Travelers and Urban Dwellers
Description: Intersecting the lives of tens of thousands of travelers each season, this is the largest flow of physical gospel resources into Northern Africa. For decades, teams of volunteers have faithfully offered the Word of God to seafaring travelers along the Mediterranean coast. For many travelers, this is the first time they’ve had the opportunity to receive a copy of Scripture. Reaching as many as 12,000 travelers each summer, it is the single, largest opportunity for the Gospel to flow into North Africa. Come join us in reaching multiple under-reached people groups.
As part of our summer staff, you will lead volunteer teams participating in 5-day evangelism/distribution ministry trips reaching NA Muslims. You will lead volunteers to work at distribution sites near a port for mass distribution of Gospel materials including French/Arabic New Testaments and children’s books. Each day you will offer these packets to people in automobiles lined up at a gate to load a boat traveling to North Africa. Also, at various city locations, you will distribute these packets.
Weekly responsibilities include praying, and mentoring, modeling, discipling of volunteers, and overseeing needs at assigned distribution sites 5 days per week.
As part of staff personnel, you will encourage volunteers to actively participate in evangelism and distribution and gathering information from contacts to help permanent workers in the city better understand the needs of their communities.
