Supporting Church Planting in Northern Manchester

Description
: Despite the long history of great preachers, missionaries, and Christian thinkers, today much of England is hovering just short of 1% evangelical. This means that we are working in a post-religious society that does not bother to think about spiritual things. The few who do think spiritually are post-modern and creative with what religious thoughts they string together.

Sometimes referred to as the London of the North, Manchester is a booming city with a population of around 2.8 million. Though Manchester has the appearance of being alive, it is spiritually dead. The city boasts several hundred churches, but only about a dozen of those claim to be evangelical. Thousands of people go about their daily lives with no understanding of who Jesus is.

This team will have opportunities to learn to engage this culture with the love of Christ while practicing evangelism & discipleship methods alongside leaders and members of a local church plant seeking to multiply and plant even more new churches in their area. You will also play a vital role in providing encouragement and support to the local field personnel.  Help them engage their surrounding communities through various activities such as:

  • Evangelism outings
  • Community programs for kids
  • Sports outreach
  • Neighborhood mapping
  • Spiritual surveys
