Serving Students in Southwest Madagascar
Description: Do you love stories? Languages? Students? Help us impact students with stories from God’s Word in Madagascar! You’ll serve alongside a local team, teach English, learn some Malagasy and improve your French, and experience God through the diverse tribes of Madagascar. Your team will contribute to long-term work and participate in:
- weekly English clubs at an English center and the public university
- weekly Malagasy lessons (or possibility of French lessons if students already have a background in French)
- rural trips to visit remote villages
- youth and children’s activities at three local Malagasy Baptist churches
- weekly prayer time with mission-minded local church members
- firsthand look at oral Bible story-crafting project for people groups without completed translated Scripture
- day-to-day missionary life with a missionary family
- day trips to fun locations (beach, baobab park, cave)

Your Fundraising Amount: $2,950
Additional Costs: Students are responsible for travel to/from the airport, baggage fees, meals/snacks in addition to what’s included in the project, and any personal souvenirs or gifts purchased.
BCMGO Missionary Eligibility Requirements:
- 18-24 years of age at the time of service.
- Must attend the required training weekend in Winnsboro, SC on March 27-28, 2026.
- A mature and growing follower of Jesus Christ with a clear testimony and a willingness to verbally share the Gospel.
- An active member of a local SC Southern Baptist Church and/or an active member of a SC BCM group on their campus.
- Supportive and affirming of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- Willing to serve without compensation and to raise prayer and financial supporters to serve.
