Washington, D.C. is a city of global influence and striking contrasts—home to powerful leaders and international communities, yet also marked by deep poverty and one of the highest homelessness rates in the U.S. With only 713 Southern Baptist congregations serving over 6.2 million people, and just 12.5% identifying as evangelical, the need for gospel-centered churches is urgent. As existing churches decline and the population grows, church planting and partnerships are vital to reach this diverse and spiritually indifferent city.
