ALERT! Louisiana Flood Disaster

 In Disaster Relief, National

It is time for South Carolina Baptist Disaster Relief Volunteers to respond again. We have been asked by Louisiana DR to send shower/laundry units as a part of the flood response in that state.

The Shower/Laundry unit from Shady Grove Baptist Church (Saluda Association) is stationed in Haughton, LA. The laundry unit from Bamberg First Baptist Church (Barnwell-

Bamberg Association) has been moved from its first location in Leesville, LA to another site. It is now serving in West Monroe, LA. Volunteers are scheduled to work with these units for several

weeks. Other shower/laundry units are also needed.

Another need is for mud-out teams. Two SC mud-out units are currently scheduled to go to Louisiana. The Greenville Association mud-out unit will travel and work April 3-9 in Haughton, LA. The unit from Three Rivers Association/Forestville Baptist Church will travel and work April 4-9, also in Haughton. That unit will be manned by volunteers from Brookwood Community Church, Simpsonville.

If you are an SCDR Volunteer and are able and willing to assist in this response, please contact your unit leader. Unit Leaders, please contact your team. If you do not have a whole team, we can look at joining you with others that respond.

Deployments will continue for several weeks.
