Welcome to the Youth Ministry Group of the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Whether you are new to youth ministry or have been a part of students’ lives for many years, we hope our website becomes one of your most valuable resources. All of us in the Youth Ministry Group share the same passions…Assisting youth leaders in becoming more effective in their student ministries AND encouraging students to live a life of faith. A faith in Christ that has a true influence on their morals, values and the decisions they make. For many, this will be their first time viewing the SCBC website. For others it may be their first time visit to the Youth section. Located on this page are the highlights of the complete website offered to those involved in South Carolina Youth Ministry. If you’ve never visited www.ystuff.org now is your chance. Just about everything from resources to registrations can be found at ystuff.org. Most of the links found on the left hand side of this page will redirect to the needed information located on the ystuff.org site. Whether it’s a registration form for Summersalt or in-depth articles on student ministry issues, ystuff.org has just about everything. If you don’t see what you need, please let us know. Help is just a click or phone call away.

So, who makes up the Youth Ministry Group? Allow us to introduce you to the team. Coming to the YMG from North Carolina, Karen has been part of the Convention staff since 1996. With more than 10 years of youth ministry experience and an infectious personality, she is always willing to offer encouragement to those investing in the lives of students. Can’t find what you need on the website? Well, help is just a phone call away. Chances are Karen’s friendly voice will be the one you hear.

Cory comes to the Youth Ministry Group with an extensive background in worship leading and student camp ministry. As a native of South Carolina and much sought after worship leader, there is a good chance you’ve met Cory in his travels around the state. Cory’s passion for music is matched by his passion for students and student leaders.

Steve has been in youth ministry longer than he’s willing to admit. With his longevity comes a wealth of experience and insight. What Steve enjoys most about his work is spending time with youth ministers and volunteer youth leaders.

The newest member of the team is our intern, Robin. She’s quickly become a valuable resource in the constantly changing world of technology. Mentoring students is also an important part of Robin’s ministry.

The Youth Ministry Group will never claim to have all the answers but chances are we know who does. How can we help you?
