On Friday evening of the conference, Amanda will be sharing Lifeway's Children's Worship Series for Younger and Older Children's Choirs. LifeWayWorship has released a new series. Children's Worship Series (CWS) is designed to inspire a powerful generation of worshipers and worship leaders through mission, music, message and movement. Created with volunteers in mind, CWS is perfect for churches looking to start children's choirs OR churches looking to enhance their established children's program. Amanda Singer is the Vocal Music Pastor at Community Bible Church in San Antonio, Texas, since 1996 where she pioneered a thriving Kids Choir Ministry. With the goal of teaching worship as a lifestyle Amanda writes and arranges music relevant to kids’ day to day lives, includes times of worship into each weekly lesson plan and uses worship concepts as the basic curriculum. In a partnership with Lifeway, the new CWS “Children’s Worship Series” takes this concept and offers it on a national level with Amanda’s CBC Kids Choir music and methods. Amanda also has adult choir compositions and arrangements published with Prism Music and Lillenas. Amanda serves as a clinician and guest artist/worship leader for conferences and evangelistic events nationally, and also mentors student worship leaders at CBC. Amanda has degrees from JSU in north Alabama, and masters degrees (seminary) from SMU in Dallas. Amanda is married to Gary – they have Tyler and Cory who played varsity football together – and they all live in Bulverde, Texas where you can find her in the garden.
Terry Taylor became Managing Editor of Growing in Grace Children’s Music Curriculum in January, 2013. From 1980-2012 Terry served as Minister of Music in churches in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Oklahoma. The son of a pastor, Terry was born in Bowling Green, KY, and grew up in south central Kentucky. He attended Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN, Belmont University in Nashville, TN, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, where he received a Master's Degree in Church Music with a conducting major.
Terry is widely respected for his creativity, advocacy, and leadership in music ministry with children. His advocacy initiatives gained national exposure when the American Choral Directors Association Choral Journal documented his ENCORE program, which led to the hiring of music teachers in Dothan City Schools. In 2007, Terry was presented the Friend of the Arts Award by the Dothan Cultural Arts Center. He has served as a guest lecturer at Samford University, and as a board member of The Center for Christian Music Studies at Baylor University.
While a student at Belmont, Terry met and married Laurie Evans. The Taylors have two young-adult children, Carrie Beth and Jeremy, and two grandchildren, Cayden and IsaBeall.
