GENERAL INFORMATION
Qualifications
* Youth completing grades 6-12 in the 2007-2008 school year and active in the music ministry of their church.
* Campers are expected to be well behaved, respectful, responsible, cooperative.
Schedule
* Camp begins on Monday with registration at 1:00 PM.
* Concludes with concert on Friday afternoon.
Chaperones
* Competent and mature chaperones MUST be provided for all campers attending.
* One chaperone for every 1-7 boys or 1-7 girls.
* ALL Chaperones must be age 21 or above.
* We cannot register any campers without chaperones being secured and listed on the registration form. Our office is not responsible for securing chaperones.
Worship
Worship is an important part of music camp experiences. There will be a worship service each day.
Choir
Music will be geared to the students abilities.
Instrumental
* Instrumental Ensemble—bring your own band and orchestral instruments.
* Guitar classes
* Praise band

CLASSES

Class #1 Offerings
- Tuesday-Thursday, 1:30 to 2:20 -

ART
1A Art AS Worship – We start by looking at the ways art has been used as worship in the history of the church. Then we give you the opportunity to select a medium to use to express your own worship. The instructor will guide you to create a work which will be displayed at our Final Concert.
1B Draw a Crowd – How to draw a crowd in a missions setting with plate spinning, face painting, balloon art and knot magic.
DRAMA
1C. Drama Basics – Develop the foundational skills to free your inner actor – stage movement, facial expression, vocal projection and lots more.
MOVEMENT
1D. Interpretive Movement – The use of body movement to interpret music and lead in worship experiences. This class is for both guys and girls! There will be performance opportunities during the week.
1E. Sign Art – Learn to put sign language with music for worship. You’ll learn a fast song and a slow song for a variety of worship settings. This class is for both guys and girls! There will be performance opportunities.
MUSIC
1F. Beginning Guitar –- Learn the basic guitar chords and easy chord progressions. You must bring your own guitar.
1G. Keyboard Ensemble – You will learn how to play keyboard instruments as an Ensemble, creating a symphony of keyboard sounds. There will be performance opportunities throughout the week.
1H. Praise & Worship Team 1 (Auditioned) – Two teams will be formed of guitarists, percussionists, a keyboardist and vocalists who will help to lead worship songs during morning celebration. Auditions will be held from 2:30 to 4:00PM on Monday.
1I. Handbells Unleashed - Ring exciting Bell Music without tables and learn new ways to achieve special effects while moving to the music! Your image of bell playing will never be the same. Pick up your bells and walk… to performance opportunities throughout the week.
1J. Drumming Up Business – A percussion ensemble using all kinds of instruments and non-instruments to create a vibe that will resonate through the camp (and through your heart and soul).
TECHNICAL
1K. Control Booth Operation for Worship – This class will train and equip you to assist in the technical ministry of your church with sound, lighting and video. We will learn basic sound theory; how to set up a sound system; how to run a sound board and signal processors. Lighting techniques and video resources will also be taught. You may be asked to observe and/or assist the Control Booth Technicians in camp worship.

ART
2A. Art IN Worship – Design graphic art on the computer for use as powerpoint backgrounds for worship songs or announcements or scripture at your church. A limited number of computers will be available so the class will rotate usage.
2B. Draw a Crowd – How to draw a crowd in a missions setting with plate spinning, face painting, balloon art, and knot magic.
DRAMA
2C. Drama Improv Games – Join in a variety of improvisational exercises that free your creativity and ability to think quickly onstage. You will have some performance opportunities during the week.
2D. Drama for Worship – Discover a variety of dramatic ways to enhance worship with short sketches, interrupters, reader’s theatre, etc. You will have some performance opportunities during the week.
MOVEMENT
2E. Interpretive Movement – The use of body movements to interpret music and how it can be used in various kinds of worship experiences. You will be performing on Thursday evening for the Class Talent Show and also on Friday for the afternoon concert.
2F. Sign Art – Learn to put sign language with music for worship. You’ll learn a fast song and a slow song for a variety of worship settings. This class is for both guys and girls! There will be performance opportunities.
MUSIC
2G. Advanced Guitar - Learn accompaniment patterns and worship song styles. You must have played guitar for at least 1 year before taking this class. You must bring your own guitar.
2H. Voice Class– Guys and girls will learn the basic fundamentals of singing: breathing, phonation, resonance, articulation, expression. You will also learn proper vocal hygiene for healthy singing. Come prepared to sing a solo in class.
2I. Praise & Worship Team 2 (Auditioned) - Two teams will be formed of guitarists, percussionists, a keyboardist and vocalists who will help to lead worship songs during morning celebration. Auditions will be held from 2:30-4:00PM on Monday.
2J. Praise Orchestra - Band and orchestra instruments come alive in this ensemble that will prepare upbeat worship music then play it in “portable presentations” around campus and in camp worship.
TECHNICAL
2K. Creating the Camp Video – Digital cameras and video cameras will be used to gather footage during the week. Bring digital cameras or digital video if you own one. Daily videos will be generated for evening worship and the final video will be shown at the Friday afternoon concert.

FACULTY
Faculty will include music directors serving Baptist churches and college music teachers. All faculty are well qualified to minister to the musical, spiritual and emotional needs of youth.
