SeraphSong… Who We Are

In the Spring of 2005, SeraphSong: The Singing Women of South Carolina, debuted at the Women’s Missionary Union Annual Meeting. Since then, this group has been in great demand as they have shared their message through song in community events (i.e. malls and festivals), churches and other settings.

Members of SeraphSong represent dedication to the cause of Christ in ministry through music. Their purpose is to glorify God by providing choral experiences of excellence that encourage worship, provide leadership training and offer fellowship among women in ministry in South Carolina Baptist churches.

This choral group, for female church musicians, will be accepting new members for the 2006-2007 season. This ministry is sponsored by the South Carolina Baptist Convention Worship & Music Office.

What We Do

The choir will meet twice a year for major rehearsals. Concerts will be scheduled several times a year in churches and other locations. Love offerings received at concerts will be used to fund a variety of missions endeavors.

Officers are elected by the membership every two years. Officers are responsible for the administrative matters for SeraphSong, handle scheduling and select a director and accompanists.

Concert Attire

Concert attire will consist of a black shell, black pants, black skirt (below the knee), black sheer hose, black closed-toe shoes and the uniform concert blouse that shall be purchased by each member.

Membership in SeraphSong is open to the following Women:

• Ministers of Music/Music Directors in the local church
• Spouses of Ministers of Music
• Church accompanists (organist, pianist, keyboardist)
• Ministerial staff
• Other professional church musicians
