Spread God's love by...
...teaching someone to read and write.
More than 20 percent of adults read at or below the fifth-grade level-far below the level needed to earn a living wage. 75% of unemployed adults have reading or writing difficulties. 70% of prisoners score in the lowest literacy levels. In an Adult Reading and Writing Literacy Missions Workshop, you can learn to share the gospel while teaching someone to read and write.
...teaching someone to speak English.
Nearly 32 million people in the United States speak languages other than English. More than 600,000 refugees and immigrants come to the United States every year. More than 450,000 international students study in United States colleges and universities each year. In an English as a Second Language Literacy Missions Workshop, you can learn to share the gospel while teaching someone to speak English.
...tutoring children and youth.
Over 300,000 students drop out of high school each year. Over 35% of fourth graders read below their grade level. Over 25% of eighth graders read below their grade level. In a Tutoring Children and Youth Literacy Missions Workshop, you can learn to share the gospel while tutoring children and youth.
