The Historical Room

South Carolina Baptist Convention Building

Currently on display in the Historical Room is a display of hymnals Baptists have used through the years. From the first hymnal in 1883, written with words and no tunes to the present 1996 hymnal composed of classic hymns, gospel songs and praise choruses, you will discover a rich heritage of singing praises to God. You are welcome to view the display any time you are in the Convention Building. The display will be available through the end of December 2007.

Other resources you will find available are Convention annuals and copies of the Baptist Courier along with church and association histories. In the near future, a microfilm reader will be available for use. Microfilm of Convention Annuals dating to 1821 will be accessible for research and in 2008 microfilm for The Baptist Courier.
