What is the purpose of this conference?
This conference will offer training and guidance for the church treasurer to better understand his/her responsibility and to provide information and resources to equip them in carrying out their task.
Who is the Church Treasurer?
An elected leader of the church who carries out the financial procedures, and guidelines that have been approved by the church. An individual who is trusted by church members to properly handle and distribute their gifts and to provide an accounting of how these gifts have been dispersed.
Randy Tompkins, our conference leader, has served several churches in Oklahoma as Minister of Education and Administration before going to the Louisiana Baptist Convention as their Stewardship/Cooperative Program Promotion Division Director. After retiring in 2005, he became an independent consultant, writer, and conference leader. He co-authored The ChurchTreasurer's Role. Tompkins resides in Alexandria, Louisiana.
