Experience Rural Evangelism 2003 on the horizon
Lauren Price
Experience Rural Evangelism will teach you how to reach the lost and unchurched in your local communities.

Experience Rural Evangelism, an experience in learning how to reach sparsely populated rural communities will be Saturday, August 9 at Pleasant Grove Church, Fountain Inn, SC, and Saturday, August 16 at First Church, Eutawville, SC.  This event is mainly for pastors and church leaders serving rural communities, places of less than 2,500 people in un-incorporated areas (U.S. Census Bureau).

“The goal of this event is to really change the way people see their rural communities, to make people see that there is a harvest in their community, and to encourage people to go,” Jack Partridge, Personal Evangelism Office director, said.

Attendance at either site will include a bus ride through the community to highlight prayer needs common to rural areas, a session to hear from pastors who are effectively evangelizing their communities, participating in an organized outreach effort to share Christ in the community, and more.  Experience Rural Evangelism begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m.

According to Partridge,  this event is more than just listening to lectures or sitting through sessions; it’s an experience.

The Personal Evangelism Office, SCBC, is currently accepting registrants for the event at either site.  The deadlines to register are Monday, July 21 for the Pleasant Grove, and Monday, July 28 for First Church, Eutawville.

The price per person is $15 and includes lunch.  To register or for more information, contact the Personal Evangelism Office, SCBC, at (800) 723-7242, ext. 5920.
