The annual Women’s Lifestyle Evangelism Conference, which is open to all women, will be held Thursday, January 29-Saturday, January 31, 2004, and will occur in several locations across the state.
First Church, Taylors, will host the event January 29; Myrtle Beach Community Church is the location for January 30; and, on January 31, the conference will come to First Church, Columbia. This is the first year the event will be in the Myrtle Beach area, which will accommodate more attendees.
“We are excited about the opening up of a new location in Myrtle Beach. This not only allows us to carry the conference to a different area of the state, but will also afford greater seating capacity,” Lynette McDuffie, Women’s Lifestyle Evangelism Conference consultant, SCBC, said. “Last year the Friday and Saturday conferences were packed out, and we had to turn people away,” she added.
The total registration cost including lunch is $16, and the registration deadline is January 15.
The purpose of this evangelistic conference is to encourage women in their personal relationships with God and to empower them for a lifestyle of intentionally sharing Christ.
Each day of the conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m. The theme is “Anointed,” taken from 1 John 2:20, which states, “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.” The theme will come to life with four different program personalities and the musical group Charis.
Speakers will include Cheryl Martin, Mamie McCullough, Debbie Morris and Debbie Wohler, each having a special experience to share.
Martin is an experienced broadcast journalist and media consultant who served as an NBC news associate and as an anchor, reporter and producer for BET (Black Entertainment Television). McCullough, who has been a top business executive, high school principal and best selling author, will return as a well-known presenter since this is her fourth Women’s Lifestyle Evangelism Conference. Morris will encourage attendees as she shares her story of kidnapping and abuse, which was the basis for the movie “Dead Man Walking.” Wohler, resort missionary for the North American Mission Board, has been involved with the Olympics since 1980 and currently ministers in the Lake Tahoe area of California.
“Under a new theme, we anticipate that God will use the outstanding speakers and musicians to once again make this conference a life-touching event,” McDuffie said.
