Who’s In Charge?
An Issue of Lordship!

Have you seen it? Two small children arguing over a ball with neither one of them willing to throw it, roll it, bounce it…they just want to HOLD it. It's their ball!

There's a debate going on within the churches today regarding who's the boss - whose ball is it? Some will argue the pastor/under shepherd is in charge and quickly lay leaders will respond with great passion and "Baptist heritage" expounding that the congregation is in charge.

In Mark 10, we have the words of Christ, " ...whoever wants to be first among you must be a slave to all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life-a ransom for many."  (HCSB)  Maybe the question that should be raised is not, "Who's in charge?" but who is seeking the will of God and is willing to sacrifice their own agenda and comfort to see that others discover God's purpose for their lives.

Someone has said, "We increase our ability, stability, and responsibility when we increase our sense of accountability to God." If we truly believe in the power of prayer, the omnipotence of God, and the truth of His word, then we should humble ourselves to that of a servant - seeking only to please, provide and produce for Christ. We're to be in the game - not holding onto the ball!

Who's In Charge? Do we have to ask? It is Christ the living Lord!
