Tim Hughes serving as Director of White Oak Conference Center

On Oct. 1, Tim Hughes began duties as Director of White Oak Conference Center of the South Carolina Baptist Convention in Winnsboro.

Prior to joining the South Carolina Baptist Convention, Hughes was Manager of Linden Valley Conference Center, which is owned by the Tennessee Baptist Convention.  He came to Linden Valley in May of 2000 as Assistant Manager.  In April 2001, Tim became the Manager.

Hughes graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Science degree, in Business Administration.  Hughes also has eleven years experience in managing conference centers.

Hughes said, “In Second Timothy 4:5 it states, ‘But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of you ministry.’  I believe this charge to Timothy addresses the need for the two characteristics of sound administration and spiritual guidance and has become a scriptural focus for me as I seek to serve God through conference center ministry.”

In addition to his work experience, Hughes church service includes serving as a deacon, youth/children’s director, Sunday School director, and director of Upwards Basketball League.

Bill Collins, Director of the Business Management Team of the South Carolina Baptist Convention said, “Tim possesses the skills to serve the South Carolina Baptist Convention well.”
