 Messengers elect Moody as new president
 
Mike Moody was elected as president of the S.C Baptist Convention during the Wednesday session of the Annual Meeting. Moody is the pastor of the First Baptist Church Honea Path.   Tom Tucker of Calvary Baptist in Rock Hill was also up for nomination. Moody was nominated by Von Reynolds, pastor of Seneca Baptist Church.
 
Moody also serves as chairman of the Budget, Audit and Finance committee of the Executive Board of the S.C. Baptist Convention. He has also served on the nominating committee.    He has also served in various capacities on the associational level.
 
Since 1925 First Baptist Honea Path has contributed $2,523,450 to the Cooperative Program, the Convention’s main funding source.
 
Other officers elected include: First Vice President Fred Stone of Pickens First, Second Vice President Adrian Allen, Union Baptist, Pamplico, Recoding Secretary Linda Hite, Red Bank Baptist Church, Registration Secretary Bill Lutz, Holmes Avenue North Charleston.
 
Moody is married to Billie and they have two sons Josh and his wife Katie and Adam who is currently serving with the Marines in Iraq.
 
The Convention president serves in various capacities throughout the year including representing the SC Baptist Convention throughout the state.
