Messengers elect Leopard as new S.C. Baptist Convention president
 
Dr. Eddie Leopard was elected as president of the S.C. Baptist Convention during the Wednesday session of the Convention’s Annual Meeting. Leopard is the pastor of the Millbrook Baptist Church in Aiken.   Richard Porter of First Baptist Church Branchville was also up for nomination. Leopard was nominated by Wayne Dickard, pastor of Northbrook Baptist Church in Boiling Springs.
 
Leopard has served in various capacities in the Convention including second vice president. Porter has also served on the S.C. Baptist Convention executive board.
 
Other officers elected include: First Vice President David Little, Director of Mission of Lakeland Association, Second Vice President Brian Harris, Rock Springs Baptist, Blacksburg, Recording Secretary Adrianne Smith, Greer First Baptist, Registration Secretary Terry Corder, Mt. Pisgah Baptist, Jefferson.
 
Leopard has been in ministry for twenty years, eleven years at his current church. Leopard holds degrees from the University of South Carolina where he played football and baseball, Southeastern Theological Seminary, and Trinity Theological Seminary.
 
Leopard and his wife Dawn have four children Christina, Jessica, Stephen and John.
 
The Convention president serves in various capacities throughout the year including representing the SC Baptist Convention throughout the state.
